The idea and initiation to create social-entrepreneurial corporations was first announced by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on March 1, 2006 in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan «Kazakhstan’s strategy of joining the world’s 50 most competitive countries» and supported by the President and The Government of the Republic of Kazkahstan.

Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan from September 17, 2007 № 407 "On measures for the establishment and operation of social-entrepreneurial corporation "Caspian", "Tobol" and "Batys" was created by social-entrepreneurial Corporation "Batys".

The major activity of JSC «SEC «Aqjaiyq» is cooperation the economic development of West Kazakhstan region by consolidation of public and private sectors.

The subject of activity of JSC "SEC "Aqjaiyq" is:

• Participation in the economic development of West Kazakhstan region;
• Formation of a favorable environment for entrepreneurial activity by consolidation of public and private sectors; 
• Formation of a single economic market based on a cluster initiative;
• Creation of a favorable economic environment for investment and innovation to West Kazakhstan region;
• Exploration, extraction, processing of minerals, including the commonly occurring minerals;
• Participation in the development and implementation of programs aimed for social development.

The main principles of activity of JSC "SEC "Aqjaiyq"

Activity is based on the principle of transparency of corporate governance system, the principle of completeness - balanced support of initiatives for both private and public economy sectors and the principle of priority, which means that preference will be given for projects that solves socially important problems of the region.

Objectives of JSC "SEC "Aqjaiyq"

Achieving the goal of JSC "SEC "Aqjaiyq" is based on the following key tasks:

• Ensure achievement of the Company goals and objectives based on the recommendations of the Specialized Council for the SEC under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan taking into account the medium-term plans for social-economic development strategy of industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan for 2003-2015 years and territorial development of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2015.
